We all love to receive presents that make us feel loved, don’t we? It’s the personal touches and the well thought out surprises that mean so much to us.
Some of the best presents I’ve ever received have been ones that have been personalised just for me, from hand baked cakes to hand sewn cushion covers. It’s those gifts that make us feel super special and create such wonderful memories to share with our loved ones.
One Christmas my friends and I decided to cook a Christmas meal. As part of the festive occasion we pulled names out of a hat in advance and all brought along a secret santa gift. On the big day we took turns opening our secret santa presents, when it was my turn I tore open the wrapping and was thrilled to find Devendra Barnhart’s face peering out of the paper, don’t worry, nothing sinister, it was a screen printed cushion (he was my fave musician at that time). I kept that cushion for years and was absolutely gutted when I decided it had to be washed and the colour ran out of it.
Another year a good friend bought me a gorgeous coffee table book called Make It Your Own, written by Anna Alicia, the designer-maker behind eco-ethical homeware and jewellery label A Alicia, I’d highly recommend it to anyone who, like me, enjoys craft and making beautiful things for your home!
It’s clearly not something he’d ever have read himself, but he knew I’d love making the gorgeously designed trinkets for the home, what a super thoughtful gift = lucky me!
It’s only September but I’m already seeing Christmas cards and other products appearing on shop shelves and gift ideas on various social media sites, which has made me start thinking about what to get everyone this year.
If you’re thinking of personalising a wooden photo frame, shed sign, Christmas tree decoration or anything else we’d love to hear from you, you might like to take a look at our designs page for some inspiration.

Being a green business will help the environment and could improve your company’s chances of success. Sustainable business is about meeting three key requirements; being environmentally friendly, considerate towards society (especially those affected by your business), and profitable so the business can survive, thrive and act responsibly whilst making a positive impact.
It isn’t about writing a policy and filing it away to gather dust, it’s about taking action. A sustainable business should have these values ingrained in their business strategy and daily decision making. Do you run a sustainable business?
